I ran across this term for the first time yesterday while watching a video on Dark Horse rowing. I weigh 180, am 6’3″, and in my 80s, and while rowing 1500m with 1′ rest between intervals, I found it simply impossible to maintain 180 watts.
My overall watts for the 6,000m row was a measly 132. From the first to last interval the watts were: 133, 131, 158, 100, and 148.
If you are a reasonably fit person, not a competitive-level rower, how close do you come to pulling your weight in watts?
