Rowing with inside arm straight versus bent?

Is one style superior to the other, notice the aussie mens crews all tend to have straight inside arm along with many other crews, of course many other crews have bent inside arms too… whats the difference technically or is it effectively the same biomechanics. Does it make you less grabby and upper body tense through the first part of the drive? Does a straight inside arm create a better ‘hang’?
