Lower Back Pain

After I row a certain distance (like a little over 1000 m), my lower back starts to hurt. This distracts me from rowing properly and efficiently. People say that you’re supposed to sit on your “junk” or in front of your tailbone. To me, this just feels uncomfortable and when I rock backwards I end up not sitting on my junk anymore. Then, the pain comes back. How can I fix this?
