Lower back hurting after erging for some time

During my workouts, my lower back starts to hurt a lot when I start to row at around 4000 meters. Is this because of the way I’m sitting? I’m pretty sure my posture is fine. Are you supposed to sit in front of your tailbone, or behind it? I mean that should you have a layer of your body BEHIND you when your bone is on the seat? This may seem confusing. Does anyone else have this issue or know how to address it?
