Five years out of training. Want to beat my old high school 2k PR by the end of this year. Realistic?

Former 130lb lightweight, PR in 2014 was a 7:14. I ate a lot of junk food and didn’t take the team super seriously.

Throughout college and in the last few years I’ve focused on building muscle, and I’m much stronger than I’ve ever been. Sitting around 150lb, ~14%bf. However, my cardio is some SHIT. I managed an 8:45 2k (while recovering from a nasty chest cold, in fairness).
